The Postum Cereal Band got its start in 1923 — the creation of David Steadman and Archie N. Merchant., and this was among the original if not the original ensembles. It was founded by David L. Steadman, who worked in the Post Cereals Grain Mill from 1916 to 1937, and Archie N. Merchant, head miller of the corn mill from 1918 to 1933, as the Korn Klub band. Later names included Postum Cereal Band and the Post-Carton & Container Band. Mr. Steadman provided the photo and names of members.
