Postcard showing the men's lounge in the main Battle Creek Sanitarium building.
Caption on front: Men's Lounge, Battle Creek Sanitarium, Battle Creek, Mich. - 57
Caption on back: The Men's Lounge is done in early Italian Renaissance. The beams are of old oak and around the room is a fresco frieze from which is hung Italian red damask. The center table is a direct copy of one in the Davasatti palace in Florence. The cabinets are also copies of well-known historical pieces. The whole atmosphere of this room is one of quiet elegance. |
