Postcard showing photo of the Bernarr Macfadden Health Home; building constructed as Phelps Medical and Surgical Sanatorium in 1899 on N. Washington Avenue by Neil and Oscar Phelps. Later the building became the Macfadden Health Home Sanatorium (1907-09), the headquarters of C. W. Post's National Trades' and Workers' Association, and finally it was bought by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, operating as the Battle Creek Sanitarium Annex before becoming the main Sanitarium facility in 1942.

Written on back: Battle Creek June 6 - 09 Dear cousins Well it is 10 p.m. but I thought I would write a few lines to say we are real well there was a while in the [illegible] I was awful tired and wore out but are real well now everything looks fine now meadows isn't very good but I have two that is nice and sowed 20 acres of oats on my neighbors they area fine corn looks good but needs working but when you quite wet [illegible] and still raining to [illegible] Well I rec your letter & post card of Lawrence it is nice I use to hear from some of the north friends but not for a long time they forgot their friends several promised to come and see us this summer but guess forgot how I would like to [illegible] & see you.
