Wiard, of Springboro, Pa., and the Macfadden Sanatorium Quartette, of Battle Creek, Mich. took a very active part for many days and nights in the sweeping campaign for local option in Michigan which resulted in nineteen counties going "dry" on April 5, 1909, and the closing of 484 saloons 10 breweries and dozens of wholesale houses and bottling plants. March 28 they broke all records by reaching many thousands of people in eight great mass meetings. Bernarr Macfadden also speaking in them. The photo shows Mr. Wiard surrounded by the splendid Quartette, composed of Messrs. Malstrom, Larson, Long and Merchant. en_US
