dc.description Goguac Lake showing Vince's Island (front) and Gould's Island. On Vince's island in the foreground is the home of Dr. Edmund Vince on Goguac Lake which later became the restaurant Buckingham Inn before burning in 1966. Designed by architect Lewis Sarvis and built about 1925, this 13 room home was built by local dentist, Edmund D. Vince, on a Goguac Lake island which originally was known as "Elk's Island." Vince built a bridge and then a causeway seen at left to access the home from the mainland. After Vince's death the home briefly became the Buckingham Inn before being destroyed by fire on February 21, 1966. (Source: Battle Creek Enquirer and News, August 4, 1963) en_US
