dc.description Postcard showing a photo of the Grand Trunk Railroad Depot 175 Main Street, Battle Creek, c. 1911. This large depot was designed by the architectural firm of Spier and Rohns and built in 1905 at a cost of $100,000. It was used as a passenger station by the Grand Trunk Railroad until 1971 when passenger service was taken over by Amtrak. The building was used as office space until 1988 when it was taken over by the Community Action Agency to be used for regional human service programming. Caption on front: Grand Trunk Depot - Battle Creek, Mich. 374 Written on back: 5-14-11 Thanks for your very pretty card. You have more pretty places out there than we have here. It is nice and warm here now. I am going to a dance to be held in the auditorium at the Lake. It is the first to be held there this year. Your P.C. friend Lesli.
