dc.description Postcard showing a photo of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at the corner of Division Street, Main Street, and Marshall Street (now East Michigan Avenue), c. 191t5. This monument, "Defense of our Flag" featuring two Civil War soldiers, was dedicated in 1901. It was moved to McCamly Park in 1966 to make way for redesign of the intersection. The First Methodist Church and City Hall may be seen in the background. Caption on front: Monument Square Battle Creek, Mich. Written on back: Dec 16 15 Dear Darla: Only four more days until I can call 1703 and talk with you. Hurrah. I am coming Tuesday and will get into Bryan at 12-25 a.m. Can hardly wait.
