dc.description Postcard showing a photo of the Post Office building designed by Detroit architect Albert Kahn, opened in 1907. The building's stone trim and repeating arches exemplify Second Renaissance Revival architecture. The post office became the Calhoun County Hall of Justice in 1978. The structure was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Caption on front: U. S. Post Office, Battle Creek, Mich. Written on back: Sat. Morning Dear Friends, Went through Battle Creek when Edith Draper and I took Hazel and the girls over to her Sister's. This is a beautiful country, no corn like around home though. Rose bushes and maples are many and beautiful. Aunt Cora's arthritis is better. The others are well. Am having a nice time. Love, Lois Sent to: Mr. & Mrs. D. McCabe Elysian Minn.
