dc.description Color Postcard showing a photo of the city water pumping station on the northeast corner of Goguac Lake. This pumping station provided water for the city of Battle Creek from August 8, 1887 to June 5, 1914. Caption on front: Water Works and Standpipe, Lake Goguac, Battle Creek, Mich. Written on back: P.S. Would like to ask if there are any more claims to be taken of out there. My Son 19 years old and a friend of his about the same age would like to take up something of that sort. Do you think a couple of boys could run a claim. Tell me all you can when you write again. Does one have to have considerable money to start with out there. Have always lived in a city so know nothing about homesteading so tell me all you can about it. en_US
