Postcard showing the first biplane to fly into Battle Creek, flown by L. W. Bonney, on July 3, 1911.
Caption on front: With warm regards for Battle Creek L. W. Bonney Wright Aviator First Aeroplane Flight at Battle Creek, Mich. Aviator Bonney in Wright Aeroplane July 3, 1911.
Written on back: Jan 12 1912 Dear Mother & all: We are well & hope you are all the same. I was up to Gladys' yesterday & she was sick with a headache the day before. Wilber has an awful cold & on his lung & in his eyes. Then just before I came away the baby vomited. I just maybe it will be his teeth again. Mammie went to see the Dr. yesterday morning to get some medicine for her headache. How did you manage to keep warm those cold days? Maybe I will come up next week & then Perry will come Sat. night. You can manage your work so we can go to [illegible]
