dc.description Postcard showing a photo of the Castle Lamp Works, c. 1912. Castle Lamp of Amesbury, Massachusetts bought this building in Battle Creek from Corl Piano Company in June, 1912 to manufacture automobile lamps, but closed in August, 1913. The building, located along the railroad tracks in Springfield between 10th and 20th streets was originally constructed in 1903 by the Compensating Pipe Organ Company which went bankrupt in 1906, selling the building to Lyon and Healy. The Lyon and Healy Company operated in Battle Creek between 1906 and 1908, selling the building in that year to the Corl Piano company, which in turn sold it to the Castle Lamp Works in 1912.
