Description:
The students and faculty at Court School, 6 miles north of Battle Creek on the road to Lacey, were enjoying a new addition in May 1948 thanks to the support of local voters. People of the district passed a 3-mill increase to pay for the addition to the 74-year-old building. The Enquirer and News reported on May 16 that the W.K. Kellogg Foundation suggested windows that would reduce glare. Court School took its name from Henry Court, who sold the district its plot of land from his holdings on the north side of St. Mary's Lake in 1873.
