dc.description A parade highlights Battle Creek's five-day centennial celebration on Oct. 5, 1931. The Battle Creek Moon Journal and Battle Creek Enquirer and The Evening News published photos of the parade as well as stories about re-enactments of pioneer life staged on 150 acres southeast of Barnes Park along the Kalamazoo River. The Enquirer reported at least 100,000 people in attendance at the parade, including Gov. Wilber M. Brucker, although Henry Ford's absence was noted, as well. en_US
