dc.description Among the early homes of the Morning Enquirer was this building on North McCamly Street. The Enquirer was born July 21, 1900 — its first quarters at 12 E. State St. — when Battle Creek's population was about 18,000. After holding an interest for a year, C.W. Post purchased the enterprise outright in 1908 and recruited Albert L. Miller to become business manager and editor of the publication — the first of three generations of the Miller family to run the Enquirer. The Enquirer moved in at 7-11 N. McCamly St. on Jan. 1, 1916, and newspaper offices would remain for 14 years. en_US
