dc.description This circa 1900 photograph of a Duplex Printing Press on McCamly Avenue South at Houston Street was part of a factory complex that at its peak operation would cover 12.9 acres. Founded in 1884 by I.L. Stone to manufacturer the revolutionary Cox printing press, it employed hundreds of Battle Creek men and women for more than 50 years, selling presses worldwide. In 1947, Duplex merged with Goss Printing Press Co. Local operations ceased in 1951. en_US
