The 40 families who attended of St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church completed this new home at 506 B Drive S. on Sept. 13, 1970. The Enquirer and News reported on May 1, 1975, that the $3,000, gold-leaf, onion-dome cupola, traditional to Eastern Orthodox churches, weighed 300 pounds, stood 13 feet tall and was topped by a three-barred Slavic cross. | en_US |
