dc.description Work crews begin the demolition of the former Duplex Printing Press Co. building at South McCamly Avenue and Houston Street on Aug. 23, 1974. The Duplex firm, formed in 1884, was at one time one of Battle Creek's largest employers with a worldwide market for presses made here. The building was purchased by Oliver Corp. after Duplex merged with Goss Printing Press Co. and its operations moved to Chicago. United Steel & Wire Co. owned the building in 1974. en_US
