Description:
The former Greyhound Bus Terminal adjacent to City Hall is reduced to a shell on Aug. 12, 1974, as the crew for OK Wrecking Co. continued the work of tearing it down. After several years of debate, the Battle Creek City Commission voted Aug. 6, 1974, to demolish the building and install 33 parking spaces on the site. An Enquirer and News editorial on Aug. 8, 1974, noted that the cost of each space would be more than $4,100 — "as much, probably, as most of the cars parked there."
