The Metropolitan County Building at Hamblin Avenue and Carlyle Street in Battle Creek was getting crowded in 1970, and officials wanted to construct a new building for the health and welfare departments. Crowded into the three floors of this building were the welfare staff, the Probate Court and the health department laboratory. |
