dc.description Enquirer and News chief photographer Corwin J . Wherrett snapped this troll's view of the Ceresco dam from beneath the 12-Mile Road bridge over the Kalamazoo River in May 1972. The dam was built in 1906 by what was then called the Commonwealth Power Co. and was later bought out by Consumers Power Co. Electricity production was discontinued in the 1950s. Canadian oil transport corporation Enbridge purchased and removed the dam in 2013 as part of the company's mitigation for the 2010 oil spill. en_US
