dc.description Once one of Battle Creek's longest running enterprises, Union Pump had long been among the world's major manufacturers of centrifugal, reciprocating and nuclear pumps for a variety of industries. The company was started in 1884 in the basement of Adams & Smith, a wagon and blacksmith shop and was incorporated in 1885. It was acquired in November 2008 by Clyde Pumps and took the name ClydeUnion Pumps. SPX acquired the company in 2011 and shut down Battle Creek production at the company's Dickman Road factory two years later. en_US
