dc.description The Ralston Purina Co. plant at 150 S. McCamly St., employed more than 325 people with an estimated payroll of $3 million, when this photo was taken in 1970. The plant produced both Chex cereals and Purina Pet Foods. Ross H. Coller, in his June 1, 1959, Enquirer and News history column, wrote that "Ralston Purina became part of 'Foodtown U.S.A.' through its purchase in April 1927 of Battle Creek's Armor Grain Co. plant, long known as the Mapl-Flake Mills." The factory continued to operate under the Ralston name until 2013, when it was acquired by ConAgra. In 2016, it was one of 32 facilities acquired by TreeHouse Foods. en_US
