dc.description The W.K. Kellogg Regional Air Field was formerly dedicated to military use on Aug. 26, 1942, closing the Battle Creek airport to civilian use during World War II. At about the time these photographs were taken, a report in the May 16, 1943, edition of the Battle Creek Enquirer and News noted that many of the B-17s, B-25s, transports and other military aircraft were made combat-ready in Battle Creek. en_US
