dc.description Another photo update of the Stouffer Hotel construction, this one accompanying a Sept. 2, 1981, story by Elaine Kulhanek about Battle Creek's application for an All-American City Award. In addition to the business district redevelopment of which the hotel was a part, the story cited railroad consolidation and the Franklin neighborhood project, which resulted in the construction of a new Franklin Elementary School and the conversion of the old school into a neighborhood center and park. en_US
