dc.description Maple United Methodist Church organized in 1884 and dedicated its building on Aug. 31, 1890. At the time of this photo, the congregation was engaged in the construction of a new, $250,000 educational wing on the west side of the church. This coincided with the demolition of the parish house around the corner at 26 Merritt St. The church's original name, Maple Methodist Church, was changed to Maple United Methodist Church in 1968 when the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren merged. en_US
