dc.description A group of Methodists living in the Chapel Hill suburban area of Lakeview decided in 1957 they wanted to organize their own church, and on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1957, they held their first service on the 4-acre site of their future church, east of Riverside Drive on Chapel Hill Drive. Ground was broken for the $150,000 sanctuary on March 3, 1963. They would hold their first service in the church on Sept. 23, 1963. en_US
