dc.description The bronze statue of C.W. Post in Monument Park, shown here in 1970, was dedicated May 27, 1917. The Hon. E.C. Hinman, who presided over the ceremony, stated that Post "was a man who in his comparatively short stay among us did more for the upbuilding of Battle Creek than any other man." The crowd occupied all of of the park, overflowing onto Monument Square, South Avenue and Division Street, according to a May 28, 1917, account by The Evening News. en_US
