dc.description United Community Services, the precursor to the United Way of Greater Battle Creek Area, unveiled its new offices at 182 W. Van Buren St. on May 7, 1967. The one-story building, located on what would become the site of a downtown motel, was paid for with a $219,800 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. en_US
